Fed up with shopping for basics only to see people with 36 toilet rolls in their trolley, local Tesco had no baked beans yesterday!

Yup, this was our local Tesco's toilet roll aisle on Thursday when I went....

Fortunately I managed to grab the last three available 24 packs

(I didn't really )

Looking at the above King Boris needs to admit he got it wrong about the 10pm and change it back to 1 am so people leave in a steady stream.

Be the mark of the man if he can admit he was wrong. Unfortunately due to politics, not science, itís better to look arrogant than incompetent.

But again looking at the pie what can you close?

Nothing. We need to continue what weíre doin, distance, masks and hygiene - shame we needed a pandemic to remind us of that!

Has Boris got it wrong or are people just incapable of behaving and leaving pubs and promptly going separate ways??

Is another Lockdown coming?

Donít think a second lockdown is happening.
Hospitality sector is struggling and I assume the 10PM curfew doesnít help owners.

Itís come to a point where itís up to us to actually be decent beings and follow guidelines and protect one another.

Has anyone used the NHS Covid app when going to a pub etc?

Speaking to some, many havenít bothered or even put the correct contact details when asked about their Track & Trace info.

It goes back to what muzzer said at the start of the post, people are absolute idiots, especially when you take them as a group and have this wonderful example of a government to look up to.

It's coming in one form or another, the lack of critical analysis by most is depressing and the selfishness of all those people who are engaging in behaviour that virtually ensures that any virus will spread means there will be no option.

Debates will go on about how deadly it is vs how damaging the lockdown will be, but taking the current science, without enough testing or a working vaccine, the R number dictates.

Full north east now banned from meeting anyone outside your house hold.

Except at work. So again, you can see your boss but not your elderly parents.

The north east wonít accept this. London dictating from a distance. While serving booze in the parliament pub. Trivial point but it will stick.

I assume most in the NE are doin everything they can. A small percentage wonít be but thatís the same everywhere.

Itís a stupid suggest but if people in the NE stopped getting tested the rate will drop. No ones in the hospitals so it will look like everythingís ok.

When all of a sudden you couldnít get a text I thought this could be the reason, with no positive results there is no crisis.

Until, or if, the hospitals fill up again :-/

My opinion is that the hospitals will start to fill up soon .......

The main problem is that there is enough of the population who are either:

a) Unable to understand the rules and guidance and therefore do not follow them. i.e. stupid people
b) Cannot stick to the rules and guidance - often people who will tell you they social distance, but want to have the conversation while standing right next to you. i.e. stupid people
c) Will not stick to the rules and guidance on matters of principle ("I am not a number, I am a free man") i.e. stupid people.

Such that the virus will continue to spread.

Seems to be a pattern emerging ?

d) despite everyoneís best reasonable effort the virus is so transmittable (prob a better science word for that) that people are goin to be infected.

No I don't think another full lockdown will come and I don't think we're far off legislation changing meaning there needs to be debate before further restrictions are made.
Figures need to be broken down and explained a lot more before using as a reason for restrictions. It's no good saying there are 30 people in a hospital with Covid if only 3 are in ITU, over 20 is not the primary reason they're in hospital, caught it while in hospital and have minor symptoms/none.
Yes testing is up, positives are up but that's what targeted testing brings.

The current situation in universities is great, 120 positive cases in one halls, only 2 with symptoms. Surely they're all better off catching it in uni, at least come xmas when they go home they'll all be clear. Bit like chicken pox parties.

I do not disagree with your point d, in that the virus will not go away (the genie is out of the bottle and it will not be going back).

However if a, b and c were not an issue, transmission rates would be a lot lower and we would not be facing increased hospital admissions and further lockdown restrictions.
