I went for black hammerite (smooth over rust) as I was painting mine on the car and had start to rust. But so far it has lasted over 8 months and can see some areas where the paint has started to chip so will touch it up over the summer

BTW are you over on e90post, username looks familar?

I was recently asked to do lime green calipers, but do the hubs silver. It all depends on car colour and wheel colour as to what may look best.
It left quite a nice finish tbh.
Been well over 2 years since I did it and there is no sign of it coming off

I have used hammerite in the past but it bubbles and discolours when hot. a VHT paint would be better I think

Ive only ever used hammerite smooth on all of my cars.Hubs, calipers and stone guards.
Never had a problem.I repaint them every year or so to tidy them up.
My 407s are silver and the 406s are black.
