BH's Wife's Candy White 3 Door VW Move up!

Not your usual DW exotica but hey ...

After the wife's leased Renault Captur went back I thought (foolishly) that we could manage on one car. SWMBO had different idea's

There are no cheap lease deals that interested her neither was there any decent PCP deals on any new cars she fancied

So it was to be a used car cash purchase

Much searching later I found this one, which we collected this afternoon

Volkswagon Move up!
999cc 60bhp petrol
18000 miles
17 plate - 1st reg 17th March 2017
One owner from new
Full dealer service history. Last service 9th October 2020
MOT expires March 2021

15in Alloy Wheels - Fortaleza
Manual air con

Solid candy white
Black fusion cloth upholstery

Extra's -
Winter pack - Heated front seats, electrically heated & adjustable door mirrors & front fog lights
Smartphone navigation interface

Other than one small stone chip on the front bumper the up! is in excellent condition inside and out

£20/annum VED - The previous owner bought the up! 2 weeks before the VED rates changed and went up to £140 then (£150 now) - so probs one of the few 17 plate Up's with the £20/year VED
£111/annum fully comp insurance with £0 excess for both of us to drive

Sorting out the time for a wheels off detail at the mo

SWMBO is very happy

Thanks for looking

These lack the character of the Fiat 500 but they are the better car, we haven't had one fail an MOT yet, simple to work on and drive very well, great mpg on them too.

Hired one of these in Greece a couple of years ago.

That little sewing machine of an engine is a cracking power unit in these.

Loved it for the 3 days we had it.

They are a great little car

I got my daughter one of the first one's when they launched. A far safer car than her rusting KA that failed it's MOT.

She is now a VW nut and has just got the new shape Polo.

A lot of OEMs use them for teardowns, as they are very well engineered.

A friend of mine said. That when JLR were benchmarking, they could not make one at that price point.

Agreed

Fiat 500 / Ford KA. Both the same cars underneath

The original KA was the best, the Mk2 had all the downsides of the 500 - suspension arms (that you need to remove the front bumper to replace because of the bolts) exhausts that rot, water leaks, rear shock absorbers etc, the MK3 doesn't look bad but again lacks character.

For some reason the UP seems to be far more reliable than the rest of the VW range, in fact its the only VW i would buy.

Great cars, although I prefer the Skoda version obviously...

Hope it serves you well...
