Problem you'll find with couriers at the minute, is that volume of online sales and therefore courier usage has rocketed.

In a bid to ensure that deliveries are "shown" to be out for delivery and possibly attempted, the number of drops per route will be vast; far larger than normal. So it's inevitable that some drivers (and hasten to add not all) will not even attempt some.

Two days in a row Hermes left packages at my door that were for someone that lived about 1/4 mile away.

We know the Hermes guy thankfully so no dodgy non deliveries from him, but at work its a different story for them altogether. For the moment though, I am enjoying my deliveries actually being delivered, you watch now that I have said that they will all go up the spout lol

I've got a parcel coming and Hermes emailed to say they will do a contactless delivery.

Yeah you'll throw it over our 6ft gate into the back garden like you normally do

We have ordered a reasonable amount of stuff over the last few weeks. With the exception of spark plugs from Germany everything has turned up without much difference.

I'm sure the couriers are having a better time with quiet roads and people at home to receive their packages.

With the contactless delivery I hope people don't try and rip them off. I can see lots of people trying to pull a fast one.

[QUOTE=nicks16v;5637933]We know the Hermes guy...../QUOTE]

We have 2 Hermes delivery folks that come to us. Both are great. Particularly as the Post Office, in their infinite wisdom, have identical post codes for two groups of properties half a mile apart.

We very nearly got someone's big parcel of medication yesterday. The poor NHS driver was completely baffled.

Andy.

Sounds like us, we live on straight road through village. At crossroads in middle the road name changes from lower to upper. It confuses everybody, we know the people at the same number as us very well!

I work for DPD, we are now at our highest level of scoring of amount of deliveries on time and acceptance, obviously due to no traffic and people being at home
