Realistically....... (covid-19)

Hi guys

Debate really...

When do we recon bars and clubs will be open? Will there be rules like a certain amount of people allowed in?

When do you recon we can start going abroad on holiday?

Thanks

We had notification yesterday that we're allowed back to one of our sites in full in 2 weeks time. They're a PLC and have been given the advice that they can return to work but to continue with sensible distancing protocol and cleaning regularly. BUT it isn't a soft opening.

I think pubs and sports grounds/gatherings will be a while yet but holidays I think August will be ok.

All IMO of course

I donít think bars and restaurants will open until at least the end of the year and with social distancing in place in which Iíll think itíll be a soulless experience. As for booking holidays abroad I wonít be booking anything until a vaccine/cure is found, and if people do decide to go on holiday youíll be faced with all the social distancing measures so what would be the point of going on holiday under those conditions.

Getting cost effective travel insurance will be the real issue
I think an eu holiday will be your best bet if you wish to leave the UK anytime this year

more importantly - how can you cop a feel in the boozy busting some shapes out if you have to rock 2 meters away from each other?!

300 people crammed on a plane is a long way off.

Pubs will still be a while, but it's a guessing game nobody can answer.

I just can't see people behaving, or managing to distance, in pubs when under the influence. It would be unbelievable hassle to control.

Some of the places that have reopened have ended up with huge queues. It'll be a riot to get into some pubs.

add to the above we've constantly been told pubs were on their last legs for years , how are they going to keep going with 30% capacity , plus more staff to police customers and presumably decontaminate tables and toilets after each use

Agreed that I think we are a while off normality and even further away from a vaccine. Social distancing is certainly going to be in place until the end of the year.

Hoildays abroad, well i'd like to think i'll be in Majorca in September however i'm not sure that will happen. I'm not looking forward to a holiday in the UK, its grey and expensive.

Flying... well love him or hate him Ryanair boss makes some sense

https://news.sky.com/story/coronavir...payer-11978098

No doubt if anyone can find a way to fly its Ryanair.

As for pubs, limited number and only going in with a set group of people that you know, of course that would rely on common sense and given we already have people bored with the lock down and popping off to b&q i cannot see it working well. In fact given the UK's disregard for following the rules I'd be surprised if the EU allow us back in.

Pubs have been doing well recently. More were opening than closing for the last 18 months or so.

There won't be any money running with small capacities and restrictions. They won't be able to retain staff.
